A Community Mosaic Project in Juri Commons
As part of the ScrapEden project sponsored by the Black Rock Arts Foundation we created a series of mosaics for Juri Commons, using items that would otherwise be discarded and go to the city's landfill in Livermore. The main objectives of this project are to generate awareness about the amount of waste that regularly gets thrown out in the course of day-to-day life in San Francisco, to encourage people to find creative ways of reusing these materials and to build community through the construction of the mosaics.
We completed the mosaics and had our opening ceremony July 28. Click here for pictures.
